Now I watch my candle of life flicker on as hers is
slowly losing its flame, so close yet so far to keep it lit.
On good days, her eyes glowed with love as do yours. On endless days,
her eyes of pain tears your heart in two, tears are a sure bet.
Time, if you could grasp it to slow it down, her smile tells you
she know this, years of being one hides nothing you think.
Remembering when you came to see her, she did her best
to look pretty for you, still could gave you that special wink.
Every morning the imprint of where you sat as
she slept is wet from silent tears for her not to hear.
All she says to you is your love for her will surround
her essence as the angels come to take away the fear.
Can the mighty hands be so strong, yet too weak to help fight for her?
That last night you pick her up and longingly kiss her lips of red.
Here you sleep on that chair of faith, a whisper in your ear with a kiss says,
“I love you always” as her hand you were holding slips to the side of the bed.
