I breathe deep as my paradise
unfolds to me.
I breathe life for the first time as I look
into my Daddy’s eyes to be.
I breathed lightly as I learned to walk, so lightly
as I fall, two big hands of love lift me back up.
I breathe slow as I meet my first girl, my little hear
feels funny. I could run up that sand hill to the top.
I breathe carefully as I see her sitting next to me
in high school, next dance I am going, left feet and all.
I breathe silently as she kisses me for the first time, my
girlfriend’s tears can breathe too I think. I make this call.
I breathe my dreams of her, how she touches my heart,
her fingertips on my lips, whispering my name.
I breathe her perfume as she walks away, I miss her
already. I don’t want an ending to this love game.
I breathe nerves as I get on my knees in our old
sandbox, a ring of love, never-ending day.
I’m breathless in the song of the Titanic; till death
do us part, my love will never go away.
Each lasting breath I have left breathes out my love to her now, my heart’s eyes say goodbye to her today.
